Services

Satin Touch has an industrial sewing machine and can provide upholstery services in addition to its woodwork refinishing. Oftentimes, both upholstery work and wood work are needed to completely refinish a piece of furniture. We are able to tackle both in one building.

Types of Furniture We Upholster

Chairs

Dining Chairs: Dining chairs with fabric or leather seats experience wear and tear. We can replace worn-out material and padding to restore comfort and style.
Accent Chairs: Upholstered armchairs or side chairs often have unique shapes that can be re-covered to match updated interior designs.

Sofas and Loveseats

These are the centerpiece of living rooms and tend to endure heavy use. Reupholstering a sofa allows you to update the fabric, replace cushions, and repair the frame or springs, etc.
Sectional sofas, with their multiple components, can also be updated to fit new color schemes or textures.

Our Upholstery Process

Initial Assessment

We start by examining the furniture to assess its current state. This includes checking the frame, springs, padding, and fabric. If structural repairs are needed, we can handle those as part of the service in our workshop.

Fabric Selection

Clients can choose from a range of fabrics, including traditional options like cotton and linen, durable materials like microfiber or vinyl, or luxury choices like velvet or leather. You can also go to Fabricland in Chilliwack or other stores in Abbotsford or Langley and provide your own fabric. We also work with performance fabrics that are stain-resistant and easy to clean, ideal for households with kids or pets

Padding and Comfort

We can replace or enhance the padding to ensure that seating is supportive and comfortable. We add different batting on the foam to further increase comfort. Options for different levels of firmness are available.

Reconstruction and Detailing

Once the fabric is selected and the padding is prepared, we apply the new upholstery. This step includes ensuring tight seams, proper alignment, and a professional finish. Details like tufting, nailhead trims, or welting can also be added based on the client’s request.
